Choc-nut protein energy balls
Ingredients
2 Tbsp chia seeds
3 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 scoops (50g) unflavoured protein powder
2/3 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
1-2 Tbsp water (if required)
Method
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl
Mix the peanut butter and honey together
Combine both dry and wet ingredients well.
Add water a few drops at a time as required to bind all ingredients together to form a stiff dough
Roll spoonfuls of the mixture between your hands to form balls
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for a week.
The number of balls this recipe makes depends on how big you want them to be. I find that making smaller bite-sized balls works best for me to allow them to be quickly consumed while out doing long rides on my bike. The smaller they are, the less chewing required!
