How much sugar in wine gums vs cherries?

🍒 Fruit is super nutritious and definitely a 'healthy' food to eat on a daily basis... BUT

Like all things nutrition it comes down to portion sizes and frequency as to whether it helps or hinders.

Sometimes I see clients eating very large amounts of fruit a day, not realising how much energy and carbohydrate it is contributing to their diet.

Eating too much healthy nutritious foods could compromise their goals.

For example while a 100g serve of cherries (weighed whole with seeds) only has about 40kcal in it, if you eat a whole 1kg box, that has around 400kcal and almost 100g of carbohydrate.

Not that much less energy than an entire packet of wine gums!

If you have a really high energy requirement, that might be totally okay.

BUT, it might be a couple hundred calories that holds you back from seeing progress.

2-3 serves of fruit a day is totally normal and can fit within most people's energy needs.

On the flip side, a mindlessly eaten handful of wine gums a few times a day can quickly add up to being a whole packet.

No matter where it comes from it all counts so be smart and mindful with your portions.
